Android Game Development Course

This demo was developed for our android development course during second year. It was made by a team of 5 and was published on the Google play store as a demo. We used Android Studio to make this game instead of Unity 3D or Unreal 4. It was a requirement, so we had no choice but to use the studio lol.

I personally worked on player movement and collecting of the space-rocks, handling some of the collision detection with the players spaceship and the re-spawning of space-rocks when the player gets hit. This project went pretty smoothly since we had an awesome team. Four of the five of us had worked together on numerous class projects in the past as well as 2 game jams, so we were very familiar with each others workflow and having a fifth member who just fit right into our workflow was perfect!

It was a very satisfying feeling to actually have a published piece of work on the Play Store, especially when our professor gave us a 5 star rating! 🙂 It is by no means a finished game, but only a demo of what we can do with Android Studio. This is a project that we intend on continuing to work on in the future, possibly after we graduate.
